Simply put, fake news is factually false information put out in the world as though it was true. Social media today has established an environment in which anyone with an agenda can push falsehoods forward as if they were truths and sometimes there's even people that are paid to post those types of information. The trouble begins with the combination of motivations behind the spread of those pieces of information. It can begin with someone either paid to write and post false information on behalf of someone or even robots that publish auto-generated fake news but, after they are first posted, people unaware of the information's inaccuracy may share it forward even without the intent to cause harm. All in all, it is created to affect and change people's beliefs towards specific themes and subjects, with the intent of ultimately changing their behaviours.
